DeAndre’ Knoxson is a Texas City native who grew up in public housing on the south side of Texas City. He is the eldest of his mother’s four boys and the eldest of his father’s six children. DeAndre’ takes great pride in being a significant role model in the lives of his younger siblings. That same pride is what compels DeAndre’ to reach and serve the citizens of Texas City. While in office, DeAndre’ is dedicated to exercise these three fundamental practices:

DeAndre' is driven by his conviction to lead a life of integrity and with a deep sense of passion.
DeAndre' holds himself accountable to the community by engaging with the community on a consistent and regular basis.
DeAndre’ was a student athlete who graduated from Texas City High School in 2011. During this time, DeAndre’ participated in the Police Explorer Program, Youth in Government Program and the Mayor’s Youth Coalition.
In 2012, DeAndre’ continued his education when he was accepted into the College of the Mainland. There, he studied Process Technology. He graduated with an Associates of Applied Science, majoring in Process Technology, in 2015.
DeAndre’ worked hard to put himself through college while working part-time as a lifeguard for the City of Texas City.
Later, DeAndre’ would decide to expand his career opportunities. He returned to the College of the Mainland, this time, pursuing a degree in Business Management.
After graduation, DeAndre’ entered the Petro-Chemical industry as a process technician. He thrived in the chemical industry for six years before being offered an opportunity to work for a local financial institution where he continues to work today.
In addition to the hardwork he has done around the workplace, DeAndre’ enjoys spending most of his time being a deeply involved citizen of his community.
DeAndre takes seriously his social responsibility to give back to his community. He has served on multiple city committees and boards alongside great civic and community leaders.
At 19, DeAndre’ initiated the Sting to Sting Scholarship. The Sting to Sting Scholarship gives back to his former high school. Over the last eight years, The Sting to Sting Scholarship has awarded scholarships to six students. The scholarship is used to assist students in furthering their education and pursue degrees at institutions like: West Texas A&M, University, Texas State University, The University of Houston, Galveston College, and the College of the Mainland.
DeAndre’ continues to serve his community by serving as the Vice-Chair of the Texas City Housing Authority, being part of the Texas City Juneteenth Committee, acting as Community Relations Manager for a local non-profit organization (Craving for A Change Foundation), and serving as the President of Minority Men for Excellence (MM4E) which builds mentoring relationships with first-time college students at the College of The Mainland.
DeAndre’ pursues this work while being a full-time student at the College of the Mainland.
